Would consumers consider buying auto insurance from Google? Although it’s a household name in Internet search, this would be its first time in the auto insurance space. According to a study by Accenture insurance research, two-thirds (67 percent) of U.S. consumers would consider purchasing insurance from sources other than insurance companies, and 23 percent would consider buying online from service providers like Google and Amazon.


For those placed in this unfortunate situation, there is an insurance pool called the Facility Association, which serves as a last resort for those unable to convince an auto insurance service provider to insure their vehicle with an appropriate policy. However, a checkered driving history and the high risk associated with unsafe driving practices will still work against candidates as far as auto insurance costs go.
The first is when you insure more than one car together on the same policy. So if you or your family have more than one car, you can save on the total insurance payments by having them bundled together on the same policy. The second is by combining multiple types of insurance. Most insurance companies offer savings when you bundle your car and home insurance on one policy, and some even offer additional bundling options for things like boats, jewelry, and more.
Another important aspect of buying car insurance at a rental location – it probably has much lower insurance limits than your personal car insurance. Let’s say, if you have $2,000,000 liability on your personal policy, an insurance policy purchased in a rental location might only have the minimum required by law – and that’s just $200,000 in Ontario.
Keep in mind that the minimum car insurance coverage required is determined by the Government of Ontario and may vary in comparison to Alberta, New Brunswick, Newfoundland/Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec. In addition, premiums can vary depending on the area in which you reside, typically being higher in major urban centres, such as Toronto.
